ORGANIC SKINCARE AS A BUSINESS

Updated: May 10

Interested in learning how to start an organic skincare business? Join the trend!

Beauty, health and wellness industries are skyrocketing these days in terms of profit margins.

Starting a natural skincare business involves several steps and considerations but overall the process is pretty simple.

Here are some doable steps you can take to get your foot in the door of this very lucrative industry........

  1. Start now! Don't hesitate to jump into this field if your heart is telling you yes. Follow your intuition and go for it!

  2. Do your own research. Pick a brand name that will generate customers AND get bank funding for the business going forward, i.e.: Sweet Skin Consulting, Skin Enterprises or Skin Solutions.

  1. Find your niche. For example, you swear by shea butter as an all purpose beauty agent so why not use it as a base in all your products and then name your company Shea Butter Solutions. Get the point?

  2. Incorporate your business, open a business checking account and start investing in your brand. Don't let this part scare you... a small investment is enough to get started. For example:

  • Labels: $50

  • Shopify platform: $30

  • Oils: $50

  • Bowls, Gloves, Supplies: $25

  • Bottles: $35

  • Packaging: $50

  • TOTAL: $240

  1. Use ALL of the resources you already have to launch. This includes connecting with people you trust to assist with tasks that you cannot handle, and maxing out credit cards, if necessary.

  2. Get your hands dirty! Experiment with different concoction combinations until you perfect your craft.

  3. Once you have your formula(s) right, develop a relationship with a skin care manufacturer that can produce your goods at a much cheaper and faster rate to meet anticipated customer demands.

  4. Test, test & test your products some more. Let friends and family try it first, then branch out into the world.

  5. Get a working knowledge of safety laws regarding skin care.

  6. Build strong bonds with customers to create BRAND LOYALTY – main revenue driver!

Remember what makes your brand/products/services SPECIAL; find ways to incorporate your specialness into every part of your business.
